2019 Reel Girls Clinic (North Carolina)

2019 Southeast “Reel Girls” Clinic
June 22, 2019
Cherokee, NC

Program Overview:

Girls, ages 12-18,  at all levels of fishing ability are welcome to attend.

Instructors will lead a one day clinic teaching basic and more advanced concepts of fly fishing.

The clinic will include time on the stream to try those skills and education on waterways conservation.

Instructors will work with the youth to develop strengths and competencies which will be valuable in building youth confidence. The Clinic will follow an agenda that will be developed by the instructors to introduce the sport, including equipment, flies, reading the waters, and provide time on the stream to practice. A short conservation program is included in each USYFFT Clinic.  We will work to provide a quality experience and to encourage new anglers to the sport.

We will provide rods, reels, line and flies for the clinic.

The Clinic will provide dinner for clinic participants. Dinner will be prepared by Big Nick’s BBQ of Sylva, NC.

Tribal Fishing Licenses will be provided the day of the event for the Cherokee Trophy and General Waters.
