Hunter Enloe – Hudson, NC.
Hunter, currently in high school, started fly fishing by trout fishing using conventional spinning gear. He had seen people fly fishing, however, and thought “it looked really cool.” His father bought him his first fly rod for Christmas in 2010 and from then he was “hooked – I never stopped doing it and always talked to as many people as possible so I would get better at it,” he says. “From the first time I was in the water with a fly rod I knew I was in love with it.” As the 2012-2013 season was his first year, he knows that there are many more bigger and better things ahead. “Every guy on the team is super cool and fun to be around,” Hunter says. He knows that he learns from all his teammates. He is looking forward to the America Cup, in Vail, CO in September to learn from others on the team as well as to share some of his knowledge. Hunter says, “My favorite thing to do is to learn something new each and every day and being on Team USA enables me to do so.” In five years, Hunter hopes to be in college, while guiding and working in a fly shop. He believes that most of the guys on the team would agree that they don’t want an “every day job – we want to be on the water fishing for a living. I am positive I’m not the only one who wants to do this. Probably everyone on the Team wants this opportunity as a career.”
