Program Overview:

Girls, ages 11-18,  at all levels of fishing ability are welcome to attend.

Instructors will lead a two-day clinic teaching basic and more advanced concepts of fly fishing.

The clinic will include time on the stream to try those skills and education on waterways conservation.

Instructors will work with the youth to develop strengths and competencies which will be valuable in building youth confidence. The Clinic will follow an agenda that will be developed by the instructors to introduce the sport, including equipment, flies, reading the waters, and provide time on the stream to practice. A short conservation program is included in each USYFFT Clinic.  We will work to provide a quality experience and to encourage new anglers to the sport.

We will provide educational materials on conservation efforts, tied to an actual stream-side participatory session (fish census, aquatic plant life, riparian restoration), and event related material.

We will provide rods, reels, line and flies to practice with.

The Clinic will provide food (breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks and drinks) and lodging for 15 participants

Please note that anglers age 16 and older must have a valid PA Fishing License with Trout Stamp.  Please see the PA Fish and Boat Commission website for full details and license application:
