Taylor Green – Pelzer, SC
Taylor Green first became interested in fly fishing when he was seven years old. He had been camping near Waynesville, North Carolina, and watched a man fishing for trout. He was told then that most people fly fish for trout. As Taylor says, ‘This really stirred my interest. I then asked for a fly rod that following Christmas and I have been fly fishing ever since.”
When Taylor, who is currently attending high school, was asked what was he looking forward to about being part of Team USA Youth he explained that being able to compete for a team that has won medals and multiple world championships was important. He is also looking forward to being able to improve his techniques by learning from some of the best anglers in the world. In his words, “I consider it an honor and a privilege to be a member of Team USA Youth.”
Looking ahead, Taylor has plans to attend college, majoring in wildlife management and law enforcement. He hopes to become a game warden or work in another type of law enforcement. He would also like one day to have his own guide service.
