Thomas Pangburn

Sewickley, PA

Thomas began fly fishing when he was 6 years old. His father, with his original Orvis Clearwater 5 weight rod, began to teach him to cast. Soon after, Thomas fly fished for the first time on the First Fork of the Sinnemahoning, in North Central Pennsylvania. The two things that he loves about being on the US Youth Fly Fishing Team are the team members and coaches. Everyone enjoys fishing, team camaraderie, and willingness to share knowledge about the sport. Thomas says, “I would be honored to be selected for the world team and represent our nation.” His immediate future goals include plans to study at a university while still competing and enjoying the sport that he has come to love.
