Andrew Brown – Alpharetta, GA.
When Andrew was seven years old, he told his father that he would like to start to fly fish. His first time fly fishing was on a small bluegill pond in North Carolina. After he caught his first fish on a fly rod, he says that he knew that “fly fishing was something that I would love to do with my life.” After he made that decision, he made it a personal goal to make the US Youth Fly Fishing Team. The thing he likes about being on Team USA is being able to represent the county. He expresses the opinion that “there is no better feeling than when you are representing your country in competition. I love the feeling of pride when I show up to a competition with my team hat and shirt on.” Andrew is currently in high school, but sees himself in college in the next 5 years, and competing for the men’s team. “This is something that I love to do,” Andrew says. ” I would love nothing more than to continue my competition career. I have also set the goal of trying to make the world team for the rest of my Team USA youth career.”
